PRODUCT DETAILS
PRODUCT DETAILS

What the Roses Know is a rose lavender candle for the bath ledge, the nightstand, the altar, or the friend who reads tarot over coffee. Rose, lavender, and labdanum warm over soft leather and amber in a 9 oz amber glass jar with a brushed gold lid, poured for the romantic who keeps a dried rose from every bouquet.

✦ MATERIALS & PRODUCT DETAILS ✦

✦ Vessel: 9 oz amber glass jar with a brushed gold screw lid, 2.75 inches across and 3.5 inches tall with the lid on.

✦ Wax: about 6.9 oz of hand-poured coconut apricot wax, natural color with no dyes, vegan, paraben free, and phthalate free.

✦ Fragrance: phthalate-free oils made without ingredients on California's Proposition 65 list.

✦ Wick: cotton, lead free and zinc free.

✦ Burn time: approximately 50 hours.

✦ Made to order especially for you. Each candle is poured by hand, so fill line and jar height can vary by up to about a quarter inch.

✦ THE SCENT ✦

✦ Top: clove and bergamot.

✦ Heart: rose, lavender, and labdanum.

✦ Base: leather, tobacco leaf, and amber.

A walled garden at dusk, just after rain, with a leather-bound book left open on the bench. Labdanum is a resin that smells of warm stone and old churches, and it is what holds the roses and the lavender together.

✦ THE DESIGN ✦

An all-seeing eye radiates rays of peach and gold above a winding garden path that leads through cypress trees to an arched gate. Two full-blown roses in dusty coral rise on sage green stems at either side, set on black within a fine copper border, with the notes printed along the base. The rose has long been the keeper of secrets, once hung over council tables so that whatever was said sub rosa stayed there.

✦ WHERE IT BELONGS ✦

✦ The bath ledge, beside linen towels and a dish of dried rosebuds.

✦ The nightstand, with whatever book you are halfway through.

✦ An altar or reading table for journaling, tarot, or ritual work.

✦ A bedroom in velvet and dusty rose, or a cream bathroom where the amber glass is the one warm note.

✦ A THOUGHTFUL GIFT ✦

✦ Gift for the witchy friend, the tarot reader, or the rose lover.

✦ Bridal shower, birthday, or Mother's Day gift.

✦ Housewarming gift, or the centerpiece of a self care basket.

✦ CARE RITUAL ✦

✦ Let the first burn melt the wax all the way to the edge of the jar, usually two to three hours.

✦ Trim the wick to a quarter inch before every burn.

✦ Burn no more than four hours at a time, and stop when half an inch of wax remains.

✦ Never leave a burning candle unattended; keep it away from children, pets, curtains, and drafts.

✦ Burn on a stable, heat-resistant surface. The glass becomes hot during and after burning.

✦ When it is finished, freeze the jar for an hour, lift out the last of the wax, and keep the amber jar for brushes, dried stems, or matches.

✦ The Gift Shelf ✦

Candles, linens, and small talismans for the people who keep a little magic at home.
